ABOUT DISTRICT
East Khasi Hills is one of the 12 (twelve) districts of the State of Meghalaya. The district occupies an area of 2,748 Sq. Kms. and it lies between 25°07” & 25°41” N Lat. and 91°21” & 92°09” E Long. bounded by Ri-Bhoi District on the north, Karbi Anglong District on the north east, Jaintia Hills district on the east, Bangladesh on the south and West Khasi Hills district on the west.
Shillong is the District Headquarter of East Khasi Hills District as well as the state Capital. It is a hill stations with unique natural scenic beauty which is an ideal resort throughout the year. The district is well connected with motorable roads throughout the length and breadth .
- Result of the Written Examination for the Post of Sweeper and Cleaner held on 14th February, 2026.
Candidates who have qualified the Written Examination for the post of Sweeper and Cleaner are to mandatorily appear for the qualifying paper on Knowledge of Local Language (Khasi Language in the case of East Khasi Hills District), the examination date(s) of which shall be intimated in due course. Such eligible candidates are requested to visit the district website from time to time for any important updates. Only those eligible candidates who qualify the Local Language Paper (Khasi Language) will be called for the Practical Efficiency Test. - Public Notice: Registration for entry into various cadres in the Indian Army (Agniveer) for the year 2026, has commenced from the 13th February, 2026 till the 1st April, 2026.
