HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:

                                               The District Blindness Control Society, East Khasi Hills came into being on the 29^th January 1993 under the Chairmanship of Shri. G.P.Wahlang, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District and Dr. (Mrs.) J.V.Basaiawmoit, Adviser Ophthalmology as the Member Secretary. It was registered under Registration of Societies Act 7 of 1990, No. SR DBCS 63/93 of 1999-29 Jan ’93.
